Terms of Service

Scope

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Rastr API, the dashboard, and any related services (the "Service") provided by Klajdo Fyraj, acting under "Hexagonal Engineering" ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or calling the API, you agree to these Terms. If you act on behalf of a company, you represent that you are authorized to bind that company. The Service provides geocoding and demographic data for addresses in Germany and is intended for commercial use.

Registration and Account

To use the Service you must register an account and provide accurate, complete, and current information. You must be at least 18 years old and may not create more than one account without our consent. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account, and you agree to notify us without delay of any unauthorized use.

The Service

The Service converts German addresses into coordinates and returns demographic and socioeconomic data derived from official statistics (Statistisches Bundesamt / Destatis). Values are computed by interpolation, may be updated or corrected at any time, and cells containing fewer than five persons are suppressed. We do not guarantee that the data is accurate, complete, or up to date, and it does not constitute legal, tax, or professional advice. Coverage is limited to Germany. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

API Keys

You may create API keys for programmatic access. You must keep your keys confidential and are solely responsible for all usage under your keys, including unauthorized use by third parties. You agree to notify us immediately if a key is compromised. We may revoke, suspend, or limit keys at any time, in particular to prevent abuse or a breach of these Terms, and you remain liable for misuse of your keys.

Credits and Payment

Each API lookup consumes credits. A free tier includes 600 lookups per UTC day; the daily quota resets at 00:00 UTC and does not carry over. One-time prepaid packs supplement the free daily quota with a persistent, non-expiring wallet that is consumed after the daily quota is used up. Subscriptions provide unlimited lookups, are billed according to the active plan, renew automatically until cancelled, and can be cancelled at any time, with access continuing until the end of the current billing period. Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown on the pricing page and exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Credits are non-refundable except where required by law.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws, including data-protection law relating to any demographic data you process. You shall not (a) resell, sublicense, or redistribute raw data in bulk; (b) scrape, crawl, or reverse-engineer the Service or extract the underlying source data; (c) attempt to reverse the suppression of small cells or re-identify individuals; (d) exceed applicable rate or quota limits; or (e) use the Service to cause harm, infringement, or unlawful discrimination. You are responsible for your use of the results.

Liability and Warranty

The Service and all data are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits or data. Our liability for slight negligence is limited to typical and foreseeable damages; statutory liability (e.g. under the German Product Liability Act, for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health) remains unaffected. You shall indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the data.

Term and Termination

Subscriptions run until cancelled. You may cancel at any time, with access continuing until the end of the paid period. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately for good cause, in particular for a breach of these Terms, non-payment, or abuse. Upon termination, all licenses granted to you end, you must stop calling the API, and remaining prepaid credits may be forfeited. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including those on liability, indemnity, and governing law — remain in effect.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If you are a consumer, the place of jurisdiction is determined by your habitual residence; otherwise, the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes is Berlin, Germany. Should any provision be held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force. We may update these Terms from time to time and will notify material changes; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
